In cooperation Hülskens Wasserbau GmbH & Co. KG a MPS modular Backhoe / Dipper pontoon was mobilized to Essen, Germany to assist with the installation of an ‘ducker’ ( river crossing submersed pipeline ). This would best be described as an pipeline which crosses the river and does not block the water traffic in any way as it fully submersed and installed below the river bed.

The process involves dredging of an trench with the Backhoe / Dipper pontoon, after completion of creating the trench the ducker-pipe is installed in this particular case by heavy cranes. Upon installation competence the Backhoe / Dipper pontoon is used to backfill the trench and to cover the pipeline.
