Tengiz oil field – Caspian Sea, Kazakhstan

MPS supported van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors with the Tengiz oil field developments in the Caspian sea, Kazakhstan. A 72 km long access channel was dredged by using cutter dredgers. For general services and assistance on project two of our Modular Euro Carriers ‘MV METIS’ and ‘MV DORIS’ were deployed as support vessels.

Being in a remote location with limited infrastructure, these modular shallow draft type vessels were most dedicated. Easily transportable by road per standard truck in sections. On site assembly takes our mechanics approx. 5 days per vessel, so rapid deployment after arrival. The vessels are Bureau Veritas, coastal-area classed and have unrestricted navigation notation for Caspian Sea.
